ICC Banking Commission Technical Meeting was held in Tbilisi on 15-17 October 2018. The program offered a series of discussions that brought together international experts and close to 250 delegates around key topics impacting the trade finance industry. The plenary meeting was an opportunity to discuss the progress of the financial sector over the past year, on-going industry developments as well as the Draft Official Opinions. Twice a year, the ICC Banking Commission brings together bankers, business leaders, finance experts, lawyers and representatives from international organizations to promote dialogue, make policy recommendations, and develop rules to enhance trade finance practices throughout the world.

The ICC Banking Commission meetings are the only events of their kind gathering over 250 professionals and government officials from more than 65 countries to rethink the future of trade finance, encourage governments, regulatory bodies and G20 leaders to remove obstacles to trade finance and stimulate economic growth and job creation. The Plenary Session was opened by the Chairman of ICC Georgia, Mr. Fady Asly, H.E. Mamuka Bakthadze, the Prime Minister of Georgia, Olivier Paul the head of the Banking Commission and Davit Tsiklauri, the CFO of Bank of Georgia.
