From November 28, after the so-called "point restrictions" released by the government affected the restaurants and made their activities dependent on the delivery service, the restaurant representatives' problems in terms of cooperation with the delivery service companies were repeatedly voiced.

In particular, the restaurateurs claimed that in the current difficult economic reality, the fees charged by the delivery companies for providing services for almost completely stopped facilities were very high, and the restaurants were left with no profit in using the service.

Representatives of restaurants also discussed communication issues with delivery companies at a meeting with the Minister of Economy last week.

As Shota Burjanadze, one of the founders of the Georgian Restaurateurs Association told BM.GE, a meeting between restaurants and delivery companies, will take place this week at the Ministry of Economy's request.

"Through the Ministry of Economy mediation, we will have a meeting with Delivery service companies, where the problems that the field faces in this direction will be discussed. These are high tariffs from 30% to 34% that operators have today, and in this aggravated situation, the partnership is even more difficult," Shota Burjanadze explained.

To the question - what are the expectations of the sector from this meeting, the head of the association has the following answer: "New players are emerging in the market, and if the existing entities do not enter into a partnership, then competition will regulate it. "
