Ilia State University’s Admission Quota Reduced by 13 Times – Gov't Decree

The admission quota at Ilia State University has been reduced thirteenfold. This year, the university will admit only 300 undergraduate students, compared to 3,828 students accepted last year.

The government has published a decree outlining the number of students state higher education institutions are allowed to admit for the 2026–2027 academic year. According to the decree, Ilia State University will enroll a total of 300 undergraduate and 60 master’s degree students.

The largest admission quota has been allocated to Tbilisi State University, which will admit 6,650 students, followed by the Georgian Technical University with 3,880 slots.

In total, the admission quota for state universities for the upcoming academic year has been set at 21,300 students.
