IMF Projects Georgian Economy To Grow Upto 7.55% For 2024

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) revised the growth forecast for the Georgian economy. According to the new projection, the economy of Georgia will grow by 7.55% this year instead of 5.74%. Accordingly, the IMF expects a 1.81 percent higher growth in Georgia than the fund predicted in April. By 2025, the IMF expects a 5.97% growth for Georgia, which is 0.74% higher than the previous forecast.

On the other hand, the government of Georgia expects higher economic growth than the IMF. According to the BDD document, published on October 1, 8.2% growth is expected in the country this year, while the government expects 5.5% growth in 2025. However, the fund expects higher growth in Georgia than the Georgian government itself for 2025.

IMF forecasts for the countries in 2024 and 2025:

Georgia - 7.55% growth in 2024, 5.97% in 2025;

Armenia - 6.04% growth in 2024, 4.91% in 2025;

Azerbaijan - 3.17% growth in 2024, 2.52% in 2025;

Turkey - 3% growth in 2024, 2.7% in 2025;

Ukraine - 3% growth in 2024, 2.5% in 2025;

Russian Federation - 3.62% growth in 2024, 1.34% in 2025.

As for the actual indicators, in the 8 months of 2024, the economy of Georgia grew by 10%.
