With the very first symptoms of flu, it is crucial to consult a doctor, so that it is clear whether the person is COVID-infected or it’s just a respiratory disease – Head of NCDC Amiran Gamkrelidze highlighted today.
According to Gamkrelidze, if a person tests positive for COVID-19, he/she should be immediately self-isolated, call 112 or turn to a family doctor and then wait for clear instructions.
Also, those who have contacted a COVID-infected person without a face-mask and proper social distancing, they have to be self-isolated immediately – long before they get tested for COVID-19.
“To break this chain of spreading the infection, it is crucial that the infected and those having contacted the infected are immediately self-isolated” – Gamkrelidze stated.
Head of NCDC once again urges citizens to wear a face-mask in both closed and open spaces, keep their social distance, wash hands often and regularly, and avoid big gatherings.
