According to official statistics, in January–September 2025, Georgia imported $29.3 million worth of cottage cheese and cheese, which is 27.7% more compared to the same period in 2024. The volume of imported products increased by 18.9% this year, reaching 5,301 tons, whereas in the same reporting period last year it was 4,456 tons.
According to the data, Georgia imported the largest amount of cottage cheese and cheese from Germany — 803 tons worth $5 million.
BM.GE requested from the National Statistics Office the list of companies that are the top importers of cheese and cottage cheese. Over the 9-month period (January–September), the largest importers of cottage cheese and cheese are as follows:
