Imports of gasoline and diesel fuel continue to grow, - the statement of Union of Oil Product Importers reads.
In January-June 2021, imports of gasoline and diesel fuel in Georgia amounted to 532.3 thousand tons, which was 34.4 thousand tons or 6.9% more compared to the same period of the last year (497.9 thousand tons) and 38,0 thousand tons or 7.7% compared to the same period of 2019 before the pandemic (494.3 thousand tons).
Including, imports of gasoline amounted to 266.3 thousand tons in the first 6 months of 2021 and imports of diesel fuel stood at 266.0 thousand tons.
According to the categories, in January-June 2021, the imports of gasoline fuel were as follows: A-91 regular type gasoline - 174.8 thousand tons (65.6%); A-95 premium type gasoline - 86.0 thousand tons (32.3%); A-98 super type gasoline - 5.5 thousand tons (2.1%);
In January-June this year, the largest volume of imports of gasoline and diesel fuel came from Romania - 124.3 thousand tons, which was 23.4% of total imports, then followed by Turkmenistan - 122.6 thousand tons - 23.0%; Russia - 109.7 thousand tons - 20.6%; Azerbaijan - 94.2 thousand tons - 17.7%; Bulgaria - 57.4 thousand tons - 10.8%; Greece - 11.1 thousand tons - 2.1; Turkey - 8.1 thousand tons - 1.5%; Kazakhstan - 2.5 thousand tons - 0.5%, etc.
This year, due to the increase in fuel imports, the state budget revenues from the business sector of oil products stand at the maximum level of the last two years.
“Turkmenistan has become one of the major suppliers of fuel this year. Including, diesel fuel and A-91 regular type gasoline are imported from Turkmenistan," - said in a statement the Union of Oil Product Importers.
