In October, the enterprise owned by Shatro Veli Company will start purchasing and processing grapes, - informed Rostom Kobakhidze, the founder of the company, to BM.ge.
Presently, the enterprise is being constructed in Khvanchkara micro-zone in Sadmeli Village, Ambrolauri Municipality. The company is planning to process over 100 tons of grapes during the season. The grapes will be bought from local population.
“During the first year, we will produce 50 thousand bottles of wine. For the following year we are planning to increase production up to 100 thousand bottles. We will mainly produce Khvanchkara wine, but we will also have small amount of white wine.
80% of the produced wine will be exported, the rest will be sold on the local market,” – stated Rostom Kobakhidze.
1,5 mln GEL was invested in construction of the enterprise. 60% of this amount was allocated to the company by the Project Management Agency of the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia, under the co-financing project of Agro-Processing and Storage Enterprises, 10% is the investment of the founders and 30% was the financing obtained through the Preferential Agro Credit Project.
