The net inflow of money transfers from abroad to Armenia in January 2024 decreased by 5.2 times compared to the same month of the previous year, amounting to only $33 million.
According to the Central Bank of Armenia, in January of the current year, the total inflow of money transfers from abroad to Armenia by individuals amounted to $360 million, which is $26 million lower than the figure for the same period last year.
Meanwhile, the outflow of transfers by individuals from Armenia abroad through commercial banks for the reporting period amounted to $328 million, which is 65% higher than the figure for January of the previous year.
Thus, the net inflow of money transfers to Armenia in January 2024 amounted to about $33 million, which is 5.2 times lower than the corresponding indicator of the previous year.
According to the Central Bank of Armenia, the main part of money transfers to Armenia from abroad comes from Russia. In January, this volume amounted to $234 million, while from Armenia to Russia during the same period, only $40 million was transferred.
