In which streets of Tbilisi is the air polluted most of all?

According to the results of the 11th stage of indicator measurement of atmospheric air, conducted by the National Environmental Agency of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, of 25 examined locations, highest nitrogen concentration was registered in Melikishvili Avenue. According to the EU norms, by corresponding indexes of nitrogen dioxide concentration values (mcg/m3) and air quality, 68.58 mcg/m3 registered in Melikishvili Avenue is the average air pollution index.

66.63 mcg/m3 was registered near the Technical University; 64.90 mcg/m3 – in Avabari Square and Rustaveli Avenue. Of 25 examined streets, low index of nitrogen dioxide concentration in air compliant with the EU norms were registered in only 5 cases, in 4 of which (Petriashvili Street, Mziuri Park, Bendeliani Street, Libani Street) the registered values are close to the threshold (low index 0-40 mcg/m3), defined by EU as low index. It is notable that out of examined 25 samples, none was within the category of high or very high index.
