Georgian transport and logistics company Inex Group has completed the construction of a new customs terminal and sorting center near Tbilisi International Airport, aiming to boost efficiency and meet the growing demand for parcel delivery. The official opening is scheduled in the coming days.
According to Mikheil Babunashvili, the company’s Head of Business Development, the new terminal will significantly enhance Inex Group’s ability to handle the increasing volume of parcels driven by the rise of e-commerce in Georgia.
“E-commerce in Georgia is expanding every year, with more people using online platforms for shopping. Inex Group actively cooperates with global marketplaces and online stores, some through exclusive partnerships, making this one of our most important growth directions,” Babunashvili told BM.GE.
He added that customs clearance has traditionally been a challenge in Georgia, often delaying parcel delivery times.
“With the launch of our new customs terminal near Tbilisi Airport, we expect to improve both efficiency and delivery speed. The new facility will allow us to process and deliver parcels to clients much faster,” Babunashvili noted.
Official data support the company’s expansion strategy. In the first half of 2025, the volume of air-delivered parcels in Georgia increased by 66% year-on-year, reaching a total of 15.6 thousand tons of shipments.
The new terminal is expected to strengthen Inex Group’s position in Georgia’s rapidly growing logistics and e-commerce market.
