Infinite Energy wishes to build a 200 MW wind farm in Imereti. According to Kresimir Condic, Executive Director of the company, this will be a 250-million investment. “In November 2015, we started implementation of the project in Imereti, close to Sachkhere. By now, we have been studying four locations. Initially that will be a 200 MW wind farm. I should say that the potential of these locations is very high and we are surprised by the results we achieved.
As to the cost of the project, the current trend is that the cost of wind turbines reduces every year. The last year’s reduction made 10-12%. Due to this fact, we think we will have to consider about 1,5 mln USD per megawatt, which means total investment of about 250 mln USD,” – stated the company’s executive director. According to him, negotiations with the government on implementation of the project will presumably completed in Autumn. Next step will be conclusion of an agreement with financial institutions.
