Seasonal viruses are active in the country, said Ivane Chkhaidze, the Medical Director of Iashvili Children’s Central Hospital.
As he explains, H1N1 and H1N3 are predominant viruses that primarily affect children, causing symptoms such as high fever, headache, joint pain, and weakness. Another virus that circulates in the country is rhinovirus, while coronavirus is less active.
“However, influenza activity will probably not be as high as it was in 2022-2023,” Chkhaidze added.
Chkhaidze recommends controlling the temperature, drinking lots of fluids, and contacting the doctor if complications arise.
