Infrastructure Ministry Fulfiled Budget With 125.9% Excess In 3M24

The Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia on Wednesday said it had exceeded its approved budget by 125.9 percent, spending GEL 114 million over the proscribed financial plan for the first three months of 2024.

Cash flow of the state budget amounted to GEL 554.9 million, GEL 114 million over the plan, the body said.

The Ministry added it had spent GEL 76.1 million more on infrastructure projects this year than in the same period of 2023, in figures it called the “highest three-month performance rate” in its history.

Agencies and companies under the body’s management also exceeded annual budget plans, with:

The Roads Department spending - GEL 365.2 million ($135.28mln), or 130% of the plan
The Municipal Development Fund - GEL 105.9 million ($39.23mln) or 112%
The United Water Supply Company - GEL 74.7 million ($27.67mln) or 135%
The Solid Waste Management Company - GEL 7.4 million ($2.74mln) or 100%

The budget of the Ministry this year is set at GEL 3.4 billion.
