As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out by representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, two persons had been detained on the fact of illegal entrepreneurial activitiy.
Investigation determined that the accused individuals were systematically conducting currency exchange operations in the Kakheti and Kvemo Kartli regions without the relevant mandatory permit.
As a result of the investigative activities carried out, large amounts of Georgian and foreign currencies were seized, including: GEL 4 034 , USD 2 617, EUR 270, RUB 257 834 and AMD 87 301.
Investigation is underway under the first part of Article 192 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which as a type of sentence, envisages imprisonment from six to nine years.
