As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, carried out by the representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, criminal prosecution has been initiated against three individuals, on the facts of deceitful misappropriation of a large amount of state property, by manufacturing and using forged official documents.
Investigation determined that, during the years 2020–2021, the accused persons, by using forged documents, registered by deceit three land plots with a total area of 8 041 m2 in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region. Total value of these land plots equals GEL 496 000.
During the investigation, illegally acquired land plots have been freezed. Relevant legal procedures are being held in order to return them to the state ownership.
Investigation is underway under the Articles 362 and 180 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which as a type and extent of sentence, envisage imprisonment from six to nine years.
