The newly re-established Investment Agency, operating under Georgia’s Ministry of Economy, is acquiring an urgent technical upgrade for the existing TradeWithGeorgia.com platform through a simplified procurement procedure. The contract is valued at 8,850 GEL and is aimed at addressing immediate technical and security needs of the system.
According to the procurement documentation, the platform requires a fundamental update as its current PHP, Laravel, and MySQL versions are outdated and no longer meet modern cybersecurity standards. Authorities also cite potential risks from existing vulnerabilities or malicious code that could lead to system incidents if not addressed.
The agency warns that failure or data loss in the TradeWithGeorgia system could significantly disrupt ongoing and planned export programs, international communication, operational continuity, and institutional reputation. Ensuring stability and information security is therefore described as a priority.
The service provider was selected based on the fact that the platform’s original code and database structure were developed by Idea Design Group Ltd., which allows for faster implementation and reduced technical risk. The Investment Agency itself was re-established under the Ministry of Economy about two months ago.
