Georgia’s Investment Agency has requested approval for a GEL 6.93 million simplified procurement from the State Procurement Agency to finance activities planned through December 31, 2026. The agency says the simplified procedure is necessary to ensure events are organized within tight deadlines.
According to the submitted documents, the funding will be allocated across three main areas: marketing and promotional campaigns, export promotion, and investment attraction. Planned activities include advertising campaigns, participation in international exhibitions and trade fairs, trade missions, roadshows, investor meetings, sectoral research, and digital infrastructure services.
The agency also plans to support Georgian companies through international online platforms, organize B2B meetings, and host potential foreign investors. It noted that some programs previously managed by Enterprise Georgia have now been transferred to the Investment Agency.
The agency argues that standard public tenders are impractical because organizers of international exhibitions and conferences set their own participation rules, deadlines, and fees, and generally do not take part in government procurement procedures. As a result, it says the use of simplified procurement is necessary to avoid delays or disruption of planned activities.
