Irakli Khmaladze is no longer serving as Deputy Minister of Justice in the Georgian Dream government, according to an order signed by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
The reasons behind Khmaladze’s departure have not yet been disclosed. BM.GE reached out to the Ministry of Justice for clarification regarding his resignation or dismissal; however, no official comment has been provided so far.
Biography of Irakli Khmaladze
Education:
- 2005 – Graduated from the Faculty of International Law, Georgian Technical University.
- 2015 – Completed a Financial Management course at CAC.
Work Experience:
- 2003–2005 – Lawyer, MJO Law Firm LLC;
- 2005–2008 – Various positions at the Ministry of Energy: Chief Specialist, Leading Specialist, Head of the Legal Support Division, and Deputy Head of the Legal Department;
- 2008–2013 – Head of the Legal Department, Ministry of Energy;
- Since 2011 – Lecturer, Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA);
- 2013–2017 – Deputy Minister of Energy and Parliamentary Secretary;
- 2017 onward – Held senior positions within Tbilisi City Hall;
- 2025 – Appointed Deputy Minister of Justice.
