The Chair of the Budget and Finance Committee, Irakli Kovzanadze, met with the Chief of the IMF Mission at the Middle East and Central Asia Department of the International Monetary Fund, James John to discuss the economic situation of the country and existing challenges.
The parties discussed the legislative proposals that the Parliament had planned and implemented in relation to budgetary, banking, financial, and monetary issues.
The guests were given an overview of the Committee's top priorities for its work in 2023 by Irakli Kovzanadze. The current year will be highly active from a financial and economic perspective, as was noted.
The IMF Resident Representative, Selim Chakir also attended the meeting.
