It is a fact that Tbilisi needs a bigger airport, - the Minister of Finance of Georgia Lasha Khutsishvili said this while talking about the government's plans regarding the construction of a new airport.
According to him, the passenger flow is increasing, which creates the need for a bigger airport.
"The objective fact is that Tbilisi needs a bigger airport, due to the passenger number growth at a very fast pace. Accordingly, Tbilisi Airport does not have the opportunity to expand on the scale that the country needs.
Accordingly, the need to make a decision regarding the construction of a new airport is on the agenda. There are also relevant deadlines for this. It is not like the decision will be made today or tomorrow. Work in this direction will continue. However, according to the current situation, the fact is that Georgia, needs a bigger airport, which will have more capacity. This is an objective fact," said Lasha Khutsishvili.
