Israel occupies fourth place among the TOP-10 export markets for Georgian honey. As of 2022, 10 tons of honey worth USD 61 thousand were exported. Ambassador of Israel to Georgia, Hadas Meitzad, spoke about the potential of Georgian honey in an interview with BMG. When asked what caused the Israeli market to be interested in Georgian honey, the ambassador noted that the reason for this is quality.

"When one company enters the Israeli market and people analyze that it is good because they appreciate the quality, then other importers also try to make offers in this regard. I was personally contacted by one of the honey producers from Israel, he wanted to contact Georgian honey producers in order to start importing Georgian honey to Israel. I'm glad it's happening. We will try to do everything we can for Georgian producers who want to export to the Israeli market. You have a good product. It sells itself," - said the Israeli ambassador.

According to 2022 statistics, honey is not included in the TOP-10 exporting commodities from Georgia to Israel, although it is noted that the trade turnover between Georgia and Israel amounted to USD 38 million 487 thousand, which is an increase of 22.8% compared to last year. In addition, more than half of the trade turnover came from exports last year. It is clear from the statistics that the rate of sale of goods in Israel in 2022 was a record in the last 10 years. Accordingly, in 2022, goods worth USD22 million were exported from Georgia to Israel, which was 5.7% more than the export in 2021.
