"Itabani Winery" will start offering agritourism services from May 1," Rati Kochlamazashvili, founder of the Kochlamazashvili Family Winery, told BM.GE.
According to the founder of the family farm, they have already received advance bookings for the service from both local and international visitors. More specifically, people from Germany, Switzerland, and Poland are interested in the service. However, Kochlamazashvili adds that they had higher expectations for the number of bookings.
"We have international bookings from Switzerland, Germany, and Poland. We are mainly focused on European markets. Itabani will offer customers agritourism farm tours. The main, leading direction is wine tasting and dinner. In addition, getting acquainted with the technology of clay wine production and tasting local dishes. We do not have the opportunity to provide accommodation, although there are family hotels near our farm, and "Lopota" is a 15-minute drive from us. Accordingly, we are flexible in this regard," said Rati Kochlamazashvili.
According to him, the facility has different spaces. The indoor space can accommodate up to 25 people, and the outdoor space can accommodate up to 100 people at a time.
The Kochlamazashvili family winery “Itabani” was officially opened in 2023. It is located in Kakheti, in the village of Kvemo Alvani, Akhmeta Municipality, on the road to Tusheti, and is an agritourism farm that combines a vineyard, a hazelnut orchard, a traditional wine cellar (with pitchers) with its tasting area, and open and closed terraces with beautiful views of the Caucasus. The agritourism farm also includes a small packaging enterprise for traditional Tusuri Gudi cheese, which has a 20-year history.
