The founder of the wine bar "Suliko", Baia Tsaava, discusses the prospects for the development of the tourist facility, noting that it is difficult to plan anything in Georgia, but the bar still has many plans for this year. According to her, the main focus will be made on events.
Tsaava also points to the uncontrolled price increase in the sector, which is why tourists are refraining from using restaurant spaces.
"If the current instability continues, it will be disastrous for Georgian small businesses, because it is impossible to operate like this. At the same time, there is no regulation of prices. Many foreigners refrain from going to restaurants due to high prices. Nowadays, the prices in the Georgian HoReCa sector are equal to the leading European countries, which is unthinkable," said the bar's founder.
According to him, the bar can host a total of 100 people at full capacity, including indoor and outdoor spaces, although in recent months their occupancy has decreased to 60%. According to Tsaava, the guests of their establishment are mainly expats (temporarily residing in the country) and diplomats.
As for employees, the tourist establishment currently employs 8 people. Wine bar "Suliko" has been operating at Mikheil Zandukeli str. since 2018 and offers customers Georgian natural wines and European cuisine.
