The number of job vacancies posted in Georgia fell by 3% year-on-year to 32,600 in January-August 2026, according to employment platform HR.ge.

HR.ge Sales Director Inga Shakhbaziani said vacancies declined in most months, except February and May. July was particularly weak, with a 7% annual decline, while around 6,000 vacancies were posted in August, down from 6,300 a year earlier.

Activity increased by around 15% in September as the academic year began, but this remains below the expected 30% seasonal increase compared with August, Shakhbaziani said.

Sales remained the leading sector, accounting for 22% of vacancies, followed by HoReCa at 15%, administrative positions at 12%, banking at 9% and healthcare at 8%. IT vacancies have fallen sharply from 7-8% after the pandemic to just 2-3%, which HR.ge attributes to the growing adoption of artificial intelligence technologies.
