“If we recall Tbilisi eight years ago and compare it to today, the difference is remarkable. Our capital has become significantly more developed, greener, and more beautiful—thanks primarily to the efforts of the city’s mayor,” stated GD Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze during the opening of the tunnel connecting University and Kavtaradze streets.
Kobakhidze emphasised that a comprehensive development plan is underway, and in four years, Tbilisi will be even more cutting-edge.
“We all see how our capital is developing daily, becoming more beautiful and vibrant, which fills us with pride. Today’s event is another testament to that progress. A few months ago, we opened the Bagebi bridge, which has already eased movement in the area—another step toward making transportation more comfortable for residents. Projects like these also help develop well-designed public spaces across the city. I want to thank everyone involved, especially the Tbilisi Mayor, Kakha Kaladze. I am confident that under his leadership, our city will continue to grow and improve. He has ambitious plans for the next four years, and I believe many more projects will transform Tbilisi into an even more developed, greener, and more beautiful city. Reflecting on the past eight years, the transformation is undeniable. Today, our capital is far more developed, greener, and more beautiful. This progress is, above all, the result of the mayor’s dedicated leadership. Once again, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to him,” said Irakli Kobakhidze.
