Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze says businesses operating in the Rustaveli Avenue rehabilitation zone have not yet approached City Hall with requests for concessions or assistance with any problems caused by the works. However, he said the municipality is ready to meet with business representatives if needed.

“Businesses have not contacted us. If they want a meeting and there is a need for it, our doors are open to everyone,” Kaladze told BMG. He noted that pedestrian movement remains possible, although access is restricted in specific sections where construction is underway.

Rehabilitation of Rustaveli Avenue began on July 23, with all motor vehicle traffic fully restricted on the avenue and part of Merab Kostava Street. According to Kaladze, the works are expected to be completed by the end of November.

The rehabilitation project is valued at around GEL 20 million. The tender was awarded to its only bidder, Smart Solutions LLC, which offered to carry out the works for GEL 19.77 million, compared with the estimated GEL 19.95 million.
