Reservations for July indicate a 4% occupancy in Tbilisi, 10% in Batumi, 22% in Kakheti and 13% in other regions (including Kutaisi, Borjomi, Kazbegi). Occupancies are lower for small and medium hotels, although Kakheti leads the grid with 20%.
Change in occupancy: As for the week’s change in the occupancy for large hotels, it has grown for Batumi (+1 p.p.), Kakheti (+3 p.p.) and other regions (+2 p.p.), remaining relatively flat for Tbilisi.
Weekend occupancy: As compared to the last weekend, occupancies were somewhat down averaging 40%, 25% and 16% for Kakheti, other regions, and Batumi, respectively Price discounts: Around 45% discounts in ADRs are observed inKakheti in July, while other hotels offer relatively modest discounts. Price discounts in small and medium sized hotels average -24% in July, ranging from -10% to -60%.
A slight decrease observed in the growth in non- cash spending in hotels at -79% YoY this week, compared to -75% YoY last week.
Further improvements are visible in non-cash restaurant spending as restrictions have eased, with the growth standing at -22% in the second week of July.
