The Mayor of Tbilisi described the action that occurred during the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office’s visit to Tbilisi as regrettable.
In a statement to the media, Kakha Kaladze remarked that it was not surprising Elina Valtonen attended the protest rally on Rustaveli Avenue, as, in his view, violent groups are financed from abroad.
“It was a very unfortunate action, but hardly unexpected. As you know, these violent groups are funded from outside the country. Several groups of ‘Akatsuki’ gathered, blocked Rustaveli Avenue, and caused distress to the residents of Tbilisi.
As for the visit of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, it’s as if their owner came to visit their own ‘issue’. Do you know what’s most important? Society already understands everything; it’s all within reach. It’s clear who has vested interests in our country and what political processes are unfolding both domestically and internationally. That’s why the policies pursued by Georgian Dream–Democratic Georgia and our steadfast stance are primarily aimed at safeguarding the interests of the Georgian people and our nation,” Kakha Kaladze affirmed.
