In 2025, “Kartuli Kalata” will open a factory in Guria, - the company’s co-founder, Vako Elisabedashvili told BM.GE.
According to him, at the moment the company’s factory is located in Kairo Street in Tbilisi. However, this summer, a new, larger factory is to be opened in Guria, namely in Lanchkhuti, which will have a significant impact on their productivity.
“This summer, our new enterprise will open in Guria, specifically in Lanchkhuti, with an investment of 3 million GEL. This investment amount includes the purchase of land and the complete arrangement of the facility. We have only implemented the HACCP standard in the existing enterprise, but we do not have the ISO standard. The new enterprise will ensure the receipt of this certificate as well.
At the initial stage, it is planned to employ up to 15 people,” Elisabedashvili said.
Despite this, Elisabedashvili negatively assesses November - December 2024. He says that the developments in the country had a negative impact on their sales.
“So far, we are in stagnation. In 2024, we added 1 small store and 1 shopping center to the “Gallery”. We had a fairly normal year and we approached the pre-pandemic period in terms of sales. After the pandemic, we had a very big drop and we actually had to start everything from scratch.
In 2024, we had a 30% increase compared to 2023, although the second half of 2024, was a relatively difficult period. We have our own 2 small stores, 2 shopping corners. In addition, we deliver our products to Dutyfree and cooperate with several small stores, as well as with Goodwill. If the situation stabilizes, we will again consider adding new sales facilities, - said the company's co-founder.
"Kartuli Kalata" was founded in 2015. The company produces traditional and innovative Georgian products and also ensures their sale. In addition to its own products, the business also purchase products from individuals and then, sells under its brand.
