Family-owned winery Kavta Wines in Kaspi Municipality is expanding into wine tourism as part of its new 2024–2027 strategy. Co-founder Nata Gzirishvili told BM.GE that the business will shift from external sales to on-site wine selling and visitor experiences, as market research showed strong tourism potential in the village.
The company plans to invest 100,000–150,000 GEL to restore a historic 1960s stone house and transform it into a modern tasting and hospitality space. Guests will be offered two services: a short tour with a small tasting or a full dining experience featuring Georgian dishes paired with the winery’s wines. The location will host up to 25 guests at a time through advance booking.
Kavta Wines aims to open fully to tourists in 2027, with a test phase planned for 2026. The winery has already begun working with guides and travel companies, who see strong tourism potential in the region and growing interest in the winery’s high-quality wines.
Founded two years ago by Nata Gzirishvili and Bacho Akhvlediani, Kavta Wines operates in the village of Tsinarekhi. After building a small cellar and producing its first vintage in 2024, the founders have invested a total of 200,000 GEL, funded through a bank loan and a Rural Development Agency grant.
