Kazbegi Still Doesn’t Have Uninterrupted Water Supply – “Step Inn Kazbegi”

Step Inn Kazbegi

Ani Alibegashvili, the founder of Step Inn Kazbegi, talks to BMG about the challenges for the tourism sector in the region and notes that part of the infrastructure is still a challenge for tourists, including water supply and roads.

"Works on infrastructure projects in Kazbegi never end, roads are being built, a water project is being developed, that is a very painful part for Kazbegi. Despite so many years and such large tourist flows, the water problem remains unsolved and the region is supplied according to schedule. It is very difficult to explain to the guests and businesses.

There are important works to be done in Kazbegi to ensure guest satisfaction. In the last two years, in fact, it has become impossible for guests to walk through the streets," says Ani Alibegashvili.

According to her, the summer season of the current year was satisfactory for the hotel, but they had better results last year.

"There was a decrease in flows, especially among European visitors. Moreover, mountain resorts had problems this year, especially after the Shovi tragedy. Even the number of incoming calls has decreased by 80%," says the founder of Step Inn Kazbegi.
