Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with a delegation from the German Reconstruction Credit Institute (KfW) to discuss ongoing and potential energy sector projects in Armenia.
As reported by the press service of the Government of Armenia, during the meeting, Prime Minister Pashinyan highlighted the importance of the cooperation between Armenia and Germany, particularly emphasizing the significant role played by the collaboration between the Armenian government and KfW.
Thomas Eisenbach, head of KfW's energy and resource management department in Asia, reaffirmed KfW's commitment to supporting the Armenian government in implementing new projects. He underscored the importance of joint initiatives and highlighted ongoing projects as valuable contributions to Armenia's sectoral development.
The discussions also covered various issues regarding the progress of existing projects and the potential implementation of new programs.
According to the Ministry of Finance of Armenia, the banking portfolio of KfW in Armenia amounts to 787 million euros, with the energy sector playing a dominant role - about 50%, administrative infrastructure - 26%, the financial sector - 22%, natural resource management, and other sectors - one percent each.
