According to Geostat, the average cost of dining in restaurants in Georgia increased by 7.6% year-on-year in May 2026. Monthly inflation stood at 0.3%, while annual inflation reached 5.7%, with food prices remaining the main driver, rising by 5.2%.
Official data shows that prices for traditional dishes have increased across the hospitality sector. In May, khinkali prices in restaurants were up 4.5% compared to a year earlier. Khachapuri prices rose by 11.6% in cafés and by 9.8% in bakeries over the same period.
Other items also became more expensive, including beer in bars, which increased by 10.5% year-on-year. Coffee prices in cafés rose by 6.2%, reflecting broader cost pressures in the food service sector.
