The study of the initial project of Khudoni HPP is underway, - said the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Levan Davitashvili.
According to him, the work has already started and the results will be available late in March or April.
"In relation to Khudoni HPP, the feasibility study is already underway, which evaluates the existing model to avoid flooding the community of Khaishi. The work has already started and we hope to have the results by the end of March, definitely by the end of April, which means the new location might be selected for the HPP. On the one hand, this will avoid flooding the village, and on the other hand, it will be such a decision that will not damage the energy system and energy prospects. It is possible that the installed capacity will really decrease, but it will have a fairly high output, which is our goal," said Levan Davitashvili.
The government paid USD 13.5 million to redeem the Khudoni HPP project from the investor.
