Koba Gvenetadze, head of the National Bank of Georgia attended the Central and Eastern European Forum (CEE). It is an annual Euromoney event that brings together renowned figures of politics, economy and finance from CEE countries.
The proceedings of this forum took place virtually due to Covid-19 pandemic, but the event is traditionally held in Vienna, Austria.
Koba Gvenetadze was invited to deliver a speech in the panel on the role of central banks in the post-pandemic period. The event was attended by the other central banks' governors: Governor of the National Bank of the Republic of North Macedonia; Governor of the National Bank of Albania; Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine; and Governor of the Bank of Slovenia.
Koba Gvenetadze spoke about the impact of the pandemic and the role of the Central Bank in the current challenge. Emphasis was made on the need to minimize liquidity risks during the crisis, which the National Bank of Georgia made using a variety of liquidity delivery instruments.
