As the Vice Mayor of Kutaisi Municipality, Irakli Karkashadze, told bmg, the New Year events will start with the lighting of the main Christmas tree, the location of which remains the same - the area around the L. Meskhishvili Theater.
"The design of the Christmas tree will be unique and original this year as well, we will refrain from more details, because we want it to remain a surprise. We really think that this year our Christmas tree will take its place among the most beautifully decorated Christmas trees in the world. As for the events - all the planned events are held in the open space. The traditional New Year's market will be held from December 29 to January 14, where an exhibition and sale of handmade New Year accessories, souvenirs and greeting cards will be organized. There will also be a Christmas exhibition-sale of Christmas trees and plants,” said Karkashadze.
According to him, the active New Year events will start on December 29 and will last until January 14, however, the implementation and schedule of these events depend on the epidemiological situation in the country.
