A 4-star Courtyard by Marriott hotel is planned to open in Kutaisi on Tsereteli Street by 2028. Rico Invest is developing the 120-room project with a total investment of EUR 40 million. The development is expected to significantly expand the city’s capacity to host larger tourist groups and conferences.
Rico Group Supervisory Board Chairman Lasha Nikolaishvili said the hotel will also include a conference hall for more than 150 people and a landscaped courtyard designed as a public cultural space. He noted that the project is being developed in cooperation with both Georgian and Portuguese architects, and construction preparatory works have already begun.
According to him, the hotel will create around 250 jobs after opening. The company also plans to run a campaign aimed at encouraging emigrants from Kutaisi to return and work in the city’s hospitality sector, offering competitive salaries based on international experience.
Nikolaishvili added that although the project is not expected to generate high financial returns, it is intended as a contribution to regional development and tourism growth. He said Kutaisi’s expanding airport infrastructure and rising tourist flows make it an appropriate time for such an investment.
