Kvareli Lake Resort managed to retain 80% of its foreign tourists' advance bookings despite geopolitical uncertainty earlier this year, according to the resort's Business Development Manager, Natia Sosiashvili.
Speaking to BMG, Sosiashvili said the tourism industry was heavily affected by global conflicts, with many pre-booked international group reservations facing the risk of cancellation. She noted that foreign travelers typically book well in advance, making the sector particularly vulnerable to unexpected disruptions.
To minimize losses, the resort offered guests flexible options, including rescheduling reservations, changing travel dates, and discounts. These measures helped preserve the majority of confirmed bookings, she said.
According to Sosiashvili, business began to recover in June, with visitor numbers and bookings increasing by 6% to 10% compared to earlier months. She added that as the situation stabilized, advance booking patterns from international travelers started to return.
