Georgia’s Labor Inspection Service has launched nationwide monitoring to reduce occupational risks for outdoor workers during the summer season.
The agency said high temperatures can significantly reduce workers’ ability to concentrate and perform tasks safely, increasing the risk of workplace accidents. Preventive measures are being carried out in two stages: first, inspectors are holding information and consultation meetings with employers and employees, followed by more intensive inspections.
The monitoring will focus particularly on sectors involving outdoor work, work at heights, and the use of high-risk equipment.
Inspectors will assess companies’ risk management practices, the availability of drinking water and rest areas, the use of personal protective equipment, and whether employees are properly informed about safety measures. The Labor Inspection Service said its main goal is to promote safer workplaces and prevent occupational accidents.
