The Georgian government has decided to transfer state-owned land in the Chokhatauri municipality to the Georgian Apostolic Autocephalous Orthodox Church for a symbolic price of 1 GEL.
According to the decree, the National Agency of State Property has been instructed to carry out the transfer through a direct sale agreement.
The property in question is a 500-square-meter non-agricultural land plot located in the mountain resort of Bakhmaro, a popular summer destination in Guria.
The government has not specified the purpose for which the Patriarchate intends to use the land.
