The National Agency for Sustainable Land Management and Land Use Monitoring has launched the land information system’s programming works as part of the Georgia Resilient Agriculture, Irrigation and Land (GRAIL) project.
The data about land and soil resources will be compiled into an information hub to improve land management policy. The system will provide services to farmers, businesspersons and state organizations.
A global IT service company, RMSI, will ensure the elaboration of the information system (LIS) and its design.
The Agency Chair, Giorgi Mishelidze, hosted the contractor company’s head, Senthil Rajendran, to review the project’s scale, goals and terms. Representatives of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture and IT experts participated in the meeting.
