Mamuka Murjikneli, General Director of Wondernet Express Investment Group, says that last year Batumi multimodal terminal served up to 1 million tons of cargo.
He discussed the company's results and future expansion plans on BMGTV's program "Business Morning."
"As you know, we serve fertilizers produced by Central Asian countries. The transit of this cargo is carried out through our terminal. Last year, we served approximately up to 1 million tons of cargo, which was quite a good result.
Our terminal can serve from 1.2 million tons to 1.5 million tons of cargo, depending on specifically which fertilizer is coming. Of course, we can serve more cargo," - said Mamuka Murjikneli.
He also spoke about the Middle Corridor and emphasized the need for its infrastructural development.
"Of course, new infrastructure is needed to serve more cargo. We need new terminals, seaports, new infrastructure on Georgian and Azerbaijan railway. We think we will achieve all this together and expansion will be made. We have noted many times that the Middle Corridor is very important and it has gained an even more interesting role today and this will continue in the future. Of course, there are alternative routes, but we, based on our country's interests, must prepare in every way, implement more infrastructure projects to serve more cargo", - said Mamuka Murjikneli.
