Latvia joins the EU ministers' statement about the elections in Georgia.
"Latvia joined the statement about Georgia, despite the fact that it describes the seriousness of election violations very weakly. And - yes, Mr. Orban only speaks on his own behalf, not on behalf of Latvia or the EU," Latvian Foreign Minister Baiba Braže wrote on the social network.
To remind you, yesterday the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs of some EU countries issued a statement, in which it is stated that the "violation of electoral integrity" from a candidate for joining the European Union "does not meet the expected standards" and it is a betrayal of the legitimate European aspirations of the Georgian people.
At the same time, in the statement, the ministers criticized the "untimely visit" of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban to Georgia and noted that he does not speak on behalf of the European Union.
