On Thursday, July 25, 2024, the Museum of History of Armenia hosted the presentation of the educational initiative Freedom Academy by Freedom Broker Armenia. This project aims to improve the financial literacy of the Armenian population, spread knowledge about the financial sector, and dispel myths about investments.
Eduard Safaryan, Deputy CEO of Freedom Broker Armenia, opened the event, emphasizing the importance of developing financial literacy in the country. He pointed out the lack of specialized finance and investment courses in Armenia and expressed the company's readiness to change this situation, including through collaboration with leading universities in the country.
Gevorg Melkonyan, Head of Educational Programs at Freedom Broker Armenia, spoke about the mission of Freedom Academy. "Our goal is to create a leading financial literacy platform in Armenia," he stated, adding that the academy plans to develop financial education in the regions as well.
The event included a roundtable discussion on "Enhancing Financial Literacy as a Factor for Capital Market Development" with leading industry experts. Participants included representatives from Freedom Broker Armenia, the Association of Financial Market Participants, the Armenian Stock Exchange, leading universities in the country, and other organizations.
A significant outcome of the presentation was the signing of memorandums of understanding with Yerevan State University, the French University in Armenia, and the Russian-Armenian University. University representatives expressed their readiness for extensive cooperation in all areas.
