"Launch of vaccination is one thing, it is more important to keep the pace and achieve the goal that has been set by the end of the year. If the situation continues at this pace with such an approach of the society, I do not think this goal will be achievable," Ketevan Chkhatarashvili, a doctor and health expert told "Women’s Narrative".

According to her, the government should not be blamed only in the shortage of the vaccine, as there is a lack of vaccines worldwide. However, she noted, that there was probably something that could be done more actively.

In addition, Ketevan Chkhatarashvili touched upon the importance of information campaigns regarding the vaccine.

"Providing general information on vaccination should have started long ago. I think it is too late and it will be more difficult to convince over 40% of the population, who are not going to get a COVID-jab as of the research. But there is another 17% who say they are not sure. We can win them over our side through a timely information campaign," said the health expert.

The vaccination process in Georgia should start by late March.
