GD First Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, Levan Davitashvili, met with U.S. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Georgia, Robin Dunnigan, to discuss prospects for economic cooperation with the new U.S. administration, the Ministry of Economy of Georgia reported.
During the meeting, Davitashvili outlined Georgia’s economic priorities and highlighted key opportunities for bilateral cooperation. Discussions covered the economic priorities of the new U.S. administration, along with collaboration in innovation and technology, trade, transport and logistics, the Middle Corridor, investment promotion, and the energy sector.
One of the key topics was the establishment of Georgia’s first technology hub outside the country, set to launch in San Francisco this year. The hub aims to support the internationalization of Georgian startups, facilitate their access to global markets, and attract global tech companies, venture funds, and angel investors to Georgia’s innovation ecosystem.
Ambassador Dunnigan affirmed the U.S. Embassy’s active support for the project, which will be jointly implemented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and the Innovation and Technology Agency of the Ministry of Economy.
The meeting also addressed efforts to facilitate trade missions between Georgia and the United States.
