Beka Bekaia, managing partner of Nutrimax, says the company has not experienced a decline in demand, despite broader business concerns about weaker consumer activity. Speaking on the TV program Analytics, he said the company’s export focus and position in the food sector have helped maintain growth.
According to Bekaia, Nutrimax continues to see positive trends in both the Georgian market and exports. However, he acknowledged that regulatory and administrative barriers remain a challenge for businesses, including delays in the court system, where even smaller disputes can take several years to resolve.
Commenting on Georgia’s projected average economic growth of 5.4% through 2031, Bekaia said the figure is reasonable, but the structure of growth is more important than the rate itself. He noted that businesses need a stable environment where they can operate, produce, and export efficiently.
Bekaia emphasized that sectors such as livestock farming, poultry, and fisheries require greater support. He said that if economic growth leads to the expansion of meat and fish production, it would have a positive impact on companies like Nutrimax, which supplies both domestic and export markets.
