The Vine and Wine Foundation of Armenia, with support from USAID, organized a series of events in the United Kingdom aimed at promoting Armenian wines in the international market.
The events were held in collaboration with the organizers of the International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC).
On October 7, the first tasting took place in Manchester, where renowned wine expert Caroline Gilby presented over 68 varieties of wine from 30 Armenian wineries.
The event was hosted at the Manchester Sommelier Club in cooperation with the Northern Sommelier Club. Attendees not only learned about the unique characteristics of Armenian wines and grape varieties but also explored the culture and history of Armenia.
On October 9, the tasting continued in London, where British wine buyers and journalists had the opportunity to sample the same 68 Armenian wines.
Armenia's ambassador to the UK, Varuzhan Nersesyan, attended the London event, emphasizing the importance of such events for promoting Armenian wines in Britain and expressing hope for the growth of Armenian wine exports to the United Kingdom.
In addition to the tastings, roundtable discussions were held, focusing on the potential and prospects of Armenian wines.
