Lopota Spa Resort has already received requests to host Indian weddings in 2026, according to the resort’s Commercial Director, Maka Ghvlivishvili. The National Tourism Administration (GNTA) shared her remarks as part of its efforts to develop Georgia as a wedding and events destination.

The GNTA’s Convention and Exhibition Bureau recently hosted 15 major Indian companies specializing in event planning, including luxury Indian weddings. The visit aimed to connect Indian event organizers with representatives of Georgia’s tourism sector and build long-term cooperation.

Ghvlivishvili highlighted that Indian weddings are multi-day, high-budget events and can significantly benefit Georgian resorts.

“Positioning Georgia as an attractive wedding destination in the Indian market will bring us good results. We are pleased that we already have requirements for 2026. Indian weddings rarely coincide with the peak summer tourist season, which helps ensure optimal occupancy during the mid-season,” she noted.

She also emphasized that Lopota Spa Resort is experiencing one of its busiest seasons on record, with strong bookings continuing into September, including large groups for business tourism.

The GNTA underlined that its broader goal is to attract high-spending tourist flows from India, promote business tourism, and position Georgia as a hub for international events, weddings, and congresses.
